It's pretty typical city/town driving and takes 10 minutes at most, though waiting at the DMV takes longer than that. My invigilator wasn't strict at all.
He was actually really nice. I remember that I didn't know how to turn my wipers at full speed (had always been used to automatic wiping), but he just told me how to do it and marked a point off. I don't remember any tricks except one really weird intersection. When you start the test, you'll be hitting a bunch of 4-way stops except 1 or 2 of the intersections, where you have right-of-way. Don't stop if you don't have a stop sign, but make sure to slow down a bit and look both ways for safety. As far as the parking on the test (like parallel, 90 degree back, up/down hill), I was asked to park with cones on the side of non-busy streets. I had to drive through a neighborhood and there were cones set up for parallel parking.
They will check to make sure that you didn't park too far or too close to the curb. Drove a little after, and then I was asked to pull over and pretend to park up/down a hill (they'll test both). A little later they told me to do the 90 degree back parking. As a general tip, make sure that you look left and right at intersections. Every single one. You're definitely supposed to be checking both ways before you cross (ex.
Right after the light turns green) including when you have the right-of-way (ex. Light is already green). No idea about Chaska, but I took mine on Hastings where they put you on city streets.
You'll have to try and do parallel parking anyway, though I think, if memory serves correctly, you don't need to do it correctly to pass the test as long as you get the quarter-back parking done right. It's not like parallel parking is that hard, though. Just know where your bumpers are and if you have power mirrors adjust them so you can see the rear tire so you can make sure you don't hit the curb. You can keep trying for quite a long while as long as you don't hit anything, they'll only ding you one point out of three for it. There is only one thing that I consider a 'trick' on the MN driver's test: the instructor may tell you something along the lines of 'take the next left turn.'

The trick will be that you are approaching a one-way street that you cannot turn left onto. Obviously, go past this one way, and make the next legal turn. It's not a trick if you are following the laws and signs, but if you aren't paying attention or you are just blindly doing what the guy says, you will be in trouble. Just follow the laws, and do the skills, and you'll be fine.
